Network 1644™ has its name from the year Roros Copperworks started the mining activity in the Roros region.Today Bergstaden Roros is one of seven Norwegian entries on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
Network 1644™ will be one of several contributors on the world wide web publishing information about the world heritage site of Roros and surrounding areas.
Network 1644™ is not a company, an organization, an institution, a foundation or any other kind of establishment.
Network 1644™ is an idea. An idea of making information about the former mining activity in the Roros region and the world heritage site of Roros available to the public through unofficial and independent sources. You may come across information you’ll never experience to get through official sources.
None of the present and future contributors to the content of the Network 1644 websites will ever get paid for their work and effort. The flat costs and overhead costs generated by running and maintaining the Network 1644 websites are all covered by our sponsors.

Nettverk 1644™ har sitt navn fra det året virksomheten ved Røros Kobberverk har sin opprinnelse. I dag er Bergstaden Røros en av Norges 7 oppføringer på UNESCOs verdensarvliste.
Nettverk 1644™ ønsker å være en av flere bidragsytere av informasjon om Røros-området.
Nettverk 1644™ er ikke er et firma, en organisasjon, en stiftelse, en forening eller annen type sammenslutning.
Nettverk 1644™ er en idé! En idé om å gjøre informasjon om den tidligere gruvevirksomheten i Røros-området og informasjon om verdensarvstedet tilgjengelig gjennom uoffisielle og uavhengige kilder. Du kan kanskje komme over informasjon som du ikke kan forvente å finne gjennom offisielle kilder.
